Below is an outline of the entire Auction Academy course, which includes descriptions of each classes and how many hours are dedicated to each area of study.

This subject introduces students to appraisals in regard to their relationship to auctions

Upon completion of this subject, students will be able to 1) recognize the importance of an appraisal; 2) know where to find information to establish values; 3) understand legal issues for appraisers; and 4) understand the basic appraisal outline and terminology.

This subject introduces students to auction bookkeeping, accounting and sales tax.

Upon completion of this subject, students will be able to 1) do basic auction bookkeeping and accounting; 2) understand and collect state sales tax; and 3) maintain basic auction sale records.

This subject introduces students to the skills necessary to create and prepare auction sale brochures and catalogs.

This subject introduces students to auction definitions.

Upon completion of this subject students will have understanding of 1) words commonly used in the auction industry and their meaning; 2) be able to use the information to contract auctions; 3) better present their knowledge to buyers and sellers.

Upon completion of this subject, students will be able to:

1) recognize the usefulness and implementation of computers at auctions; 2) explain to sellers how the computer is used in their business; and 3) review and show sellers how computer printouts are used to create auction files and final reports. They will be able to explain the value of computers in the auction business and implement computer programs for their sale records.

This subject introduces students to auction sale management

Upon completion of this subject, students will be able to 1) conduct basic auction sale management duties; 2) budget an auction; 3) advertise an auction; and 4) line up and budget auction labor.

This subject introduces students to government auctions including bankruptcy and SBA.

Upon completion of this subject, students will be able to 1) know how the bid call works; 2) understand and implement the psychology of selling; and 3) control their body to best project the bid call.

This subject introduces students to clerking and cashiering at an auction.

Upon completion of this subject, student will be able to manually clerk any type of auction; 2) perform as a cashier at an auction; and 3) close out an auction sale.

1) have a basic understanding of numbers in Spanish; 2) have a basic understanding of integrating Spanish into their chant; and 3) develop a basic bilingual chant and ability to interact with Spanish speaking buyers and sellers.

This subject introduces students to the current Texas laws governing auctioneers. Upon completion, students will be able to:

1) identify the department that regulates the industry; 2) recognize the laws with which auctioneers are required to comply; 3) know what they must do in order to obtain and keep a license in Texas; and 4) identify ethical issues for auctioneers. They will be able to proceed with obtaining a license to be an auctioneer and be aware of ethical and legal issues that auctioneers face each day.

This subject introduces students to the basics of cattle and livestock auctions. Upon completion of this subject Students will:

1) know how a livestock barn is built and operated; 2) recognize the difference between market and pure bred livestock; and 3) recognize and identify the components of a pedigree.

Media and Marketing introduces students to the skills necessary to create and place effective auction advertisements.

Upon completion of this subject, students will be able to 1) create a basic marketing campaign; 2) compose professionally styled ads; and 3) place ads in multiple market places including social media.

This subject is devoted to teaching students how to perform the duties of a ring person or bid spotter at auction. Students will learn how to:

This subject introduces students to the UCC-1 and security agreements in regards to personal and business property sold at auction.
