2008 America’s Auction Academy Students Raise Money for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital

On December 1, 2008 America’s Auction Academy, President and Director Mike Jones and Lori Jones, school Vice President and Administrator  presented a check in the amount of $19,000 to Texas Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital representatives Stephanie Brigger and Don Corben-Smith at a reception held at the hospital in Dallas.

The auctioneer training school conducts four charitable fundraisers per year and all the money raised originates from donations and purchases made by the students and staff.

In November of 2007 following the untimely passing of popular auctioneer and instructor Rocky Strickland, the students ask that their auction proceeds be donated to TSRH in his name. Shortly thereafter, school officials made the decision that all future school donations be made in his honor as well.

From December 2007 to December 2008, graduates of the America’s Auction Academy donated $25,000 to the hospital for the great works they do on behalf of children. Four auctions benefiting TSRH are already planned for 2009.
